1765
The American Stamp Act Congress meeting in New York adopts The Declaration of Rights and Grievances which raises fourteen points of colonial protest against the Stamp Act as well as only colonial assemblies had the right to tax the colonies and Parliament could not represent the colonist.

1781 Lord Cornwallis surrenders his British Army at Yorktown Virginia. His surrender is the beginning of the events that lead to the end of the war between Great Britain and the United States of America.
