1787 Frederic William II, King of Prussia, leads an army of 20, 000 into Netherlands.

1788 The Continental Congress passes a resolution that put the new Constitution into operation. It is decided that The first Wednesday of January 1789 to be the day for choosing presidential electors, the first Wednesday of February for the meeting of electors, and the first Wednesday of March which is March 4, 1789 for the opening session of the new Congress. There would be various delays on these dates and it was not until April 30, 1789, that George Washington is inaugurated as the first President of the United States.
