1777
Congress produces a detailed order of regulations dealing with supply issues to the army. These regulations regarded all aspects, including the how, what and whys of record keeping, governmental markings on animals and other details.

1779 Naval ships from Massachusetts while attacking the Loyalist bulwark of Castine, Maine is destroyed by the British Navy.

1781 Americans troops under Marquis de Lafayette, General Anthony Wayne and Baron von Steuben begin to form a combined force in Virginia to oppose British forces under Benedict Arnold and General Cornwallis.
