Event:
1777
Americans under Herkimer defeats the British under St. Leger at Fort Stanwix, in the Mohawk Valley in Oriskany, New York. Because of this battle reinforcements for General John Burgoyne army were unable to reach him. This turned out to be one of the key battles prior to the Battle of Saratoga that was lost by the British in October.

1787 Sixty proof sheets of the Constitution of the United States are delivered to the Constitutional Convention.
